Fasteners are really stuck on

Im in the middle of removing the fasteners from the diagonal brace to perform a tranny oil change. They seem really stuck on,anyone have a hint on how to loosen them up?

Hi,

Try tapping them lightly, and carefully, with a Hammer. Also, use a penetrant, I prefer PB Blaster (available at most auto stores). It uses enzymes to literally eat through any corrosion, spray on and let it work for an hour or 2. There could be road debris (oil, mud, Tar, etc.) clogging the threads on the backside of the diagonals, try a small wire brush to clean the threads if you can reach them.

Also, if you have a Breaker Bar, the added length will give you a better mechanical advantage than a 6" Ratchet Handle would. Hope this helps...

What brand of gear oil are you using?
