What is this piece?

I got my '99 Boxster back from the shop where they did clutch and IMS bearing. Yesterday I pulled it out of the garage and this piece was lying on the floor under the car. Is this from the Porsche? Anyone recognize this?

Garage
Looks like the attachment knob for the engine cover mat. Check the carpetting over the engine bay.

Thanks for the reply. I have no idea how it ended up on the floor but it's good to know where it belongs.
