Convertible top light will not go off?
 

I have a 2000 base 80k When I bought the car it did not have the convertible connecting rods or clam shell rods. After installing a new top it would open a close turning the light off with clam shell not connected. It appears that the clam shell rods are 1/2 to short because the light will not go out with them connected. I purchased the rods on e bay. The length of the clam shell rods from hole to center of ball joint are 9 3/4. Would someone measure what yours are please. After replacing AOS & now this I don't have much gray hair left. The problem my rods are froze up.
