Airbag Light Fault Code - Left Rear Side Ignition Squib

Hi All! Just got a 2000 S, and one of the issues that we are dealing with is an airbag light (also rebuilding the tiptronic ‘box, and installing new brakes). Seems to be an issue on the left side, and I have been reading about the possible fixes including seat belt buckles, wiring and control unit replacement, but nothing about “ignition squib” pops up.

Unfortunately I can’t find these exact fault codes when I search online. Is my mechanic using the right scan tool? Anything I’m missing here? Any help would be great, thanks!!

Garage
A squib is a small ignition device (think blasting cap) that ignites the explosive charge in the airbag.

It is most likely the seat belt retractor. I'm going to guess that it's been in an accident before cause that's the only time you would get that code....or the wiring to it is bad

Thanks for your help! They have tried to troubleshoot, and apparently think that it is an instrument cluster fault - everything else was okay. Have to look for a replacement cluster now 😔
