Starter Noise?

I get a 'grinding' noise on cold start ups only. Goes away right away. '03 2.7. Any ideas?

Usually caused by the Bendix drive on the starter not retracting properly due to the build up of crud on the shaft. Pull the starter, clean the shaft and lubricate with DuPont dry Teflon spray and it will be fine for years. No need to replace the unit.

Sounds like this is the mysterious "RRAAARRRT" I've been hearing on occasion. Sounds like an angry cat is yelling at me.

Watch Burners videos on how to take care of this noise. Pretty easy to do.
