depo tails

Was thinking of upgrading to the Depo Clear/Red tail lights for my 99 boxster. Any issues or thoughts about them? Thanks V

I put them in my 2000 Boxster Base. Easy job, and it really updates the look. I say do it!http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1617451471.jpg

I have had mine for about 7 years now. Keep in mind that the dual brake lights (2 in each light) don’t always come on. I find that with the first press of the brake pedal gets me one in each light and the second press gets both. I’ve tried different wiring and adding resistors but finally gave up. I love the look and they have held up very well. Here is a thread from years ago where I mention how to wire the fog for the dual brake lights to somewhat limited success

Thanks for the reply. Kinda odd that they work like that and they just keep selling them without a fix! Tried to check out the wiring diagram but the link is broken.

It only does that when you convert the fog light to a brake light. Since we don’t use the fog position in the US, it was a way to double the amount of light when pressing the brakes, always a good thing.

Ahh, I see the information is gone, that’s a bummer.

Here is the link to my post:

And my solution but like I said, it’s not perfect.
“ What I did is connect the fog light to the brake lights on the left side and then ran a wire to the right side, so now both LED's come on for the brakes.”
