I have found a deal on a 2002 engine, would that engine be plug and play as well? I know 2003 and up you have to change programing and a few things. Nobody seems to know about 2002. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi! On page 38 of the 101 Projects book, I'm reading this under the Boxster 2001 (2.7 Liter and 3.2S) heading, paragraph 1:
"You can swap in any replacement engine of the same displacement from 2000-2002 without having to remap the DME (for example, a 2001 3.2-liter Boxster with a blown motor can accept a 2002 3.2-liter with no remapping needed)."

A few sentences above that quote, Wayne mentions that the 2001 lacks the anti-lock braking CAN bus, but I don't think that would matter for a straight engine swap. If someone can contradict this statement, please do so!
