No lights in visor mirrors
 

Well I was excited to get some nice quality 3d printed covers for my visor mirrors- 99 base boxster. Got them installed and they look great, but could not figure out why the mirror lights still did not work? After numerous threads read on the issues, took it apart since it pops out easily, and there are no factory wires run or wires connected to the contacts. The bulbs are installed and look new. So my guess is it was not an option on all vehicles??

No. Lighted visors were an option.

I suggest that you check the options listed on the tag attached to the underside of your front trunk lid. If it doesn’t show 274 - the code for Illuminated vanity mirrors then your car probably didn’t have them from the factory. The illuminated mirrors may have been part of a package.

My guess is that that a previous owner broke one of the mirror covers and replaced the mirror assembly with the one you found.
