Convertible Top Help Needed

Hi All, Looking for some help on a 2004 986 Convertible top issue - the top lowers as expected, but upon raising, the windows do not drop. I have to drop them manually. I noticed that this appears to be because the car is not recognizing that the top is being raised, since the top indicator does not light up when raising the top. Upon completion of the raising cycle, the top light flashes briefly as the roof contacts the windsheild frame, and then the windows go up as normal when I close the latch. Any ideas on the cause? Is this related to the top latch microswitch, or is there another sensor elsewhere that is responsible for indicating that the top is being raised, lighting the dash light and signaling the windows to drop? Any suggestions on likely suspects, will be greatly appreciated.
