Interstate Battery
1 Attachment(s)
Hello, just wondering if anyone did use or using Interstate MTP 94R/H7 on a 2.5 boxster? A friend’s 3.2 S currently using this for more than 4 yrs already.
Any issue using it for boxster base 2.5 engine? |
I'm on my second Costco interstate battery, the first one lasted 7 years.

My Interstate Battery lasted over 10 years in my 2003 S, any time my car was parked in the garage it was on the CTEK battery maintainer. I only replaced it because I was concerned it might die while I was away on a multi-day HPDE trip, even though it wasn't showing any signs of failure. It was a white one with a green top. I think it was the 84 month battery.

The first Costco Interstate battery in my 986 lasted 12 years! I replaced it with another!

Thank you everyone for your reply. Can you share what model or number you used? Or is it MTP 94R/H7?

The thing is where the positive and negative posts are. That and the physical size. Then the Amp Hours.
Nothing special in terms of needing a special battery in a Porsche. I choose an AGM replacement which required an adapter and a new grounding cable. But that was my choice, not driven by need or specs. I always treated my P-car to the best. Replacing is easy. Record or locate the radio code if your radio has one. Or provide power through the cigarette lighter. Lift the new battery into the frunk. Climb into the frunk and swap away. Then redo the radio code. Simple swap. (If I can do it, anyone can.) |
IIRC, a H6 or H7 is correct for a 986

thank you all!
