Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4
I need to get a new set of AS tires soon. These get good reviews on tire rack. Anyone here have any better suggestions? Thanks!

Good evry day tires for Pacific NW
I run them, very happy with them. If you have access to Costco, pretty decent pricing

I've had good luck with Continental DWS. I changed my tires last night for the winter; two of our Boxsters are on Conti DWS and the third (mine) is on Michelin AS3's, all on Carrera II Lightweights, 225/40 on 7.5x18, 265/35 on 9x18. These are older models of their respective manufacturers, and have been superceded by later models like the DWS 06 and the AS4. The Michelin product is, of course, pricey, but nobody else seems to have anything better, at least short of specialized snow tires or studded tires. Here in Alabama we don't see enough snow to warrant snow tires such as the Yankees use, bless their hearts.

If you want something low cost, look at the Nankang NS-25
So far I have been happy with them http://986forum.com/forums/performance-technical-chat/79018-low-cost-tires.html |
Beyond great tire prices; Costco offers Nitorgen filled air, free tire rotations, and balance as long as you own the tires.

I can't recommend the PSAS4 enough. They along with the PSAS3+ are awesome all season tires.

Thanks everyone! I had a pretty dreadful 4+ hour roadtrip in driving rain the other day and learned just how old my tires were getting. White knuckler.
I ordered the Michelin's today. |
Expect to get about 15-18k out of the Michelins, unless they changed the rubber formula, not sure about the AS4, but my set of PS3 lasted less than 15k

I've bought Goodyear, Pirelli, Cooper, Bridgestone, and Michelin tires: Michelin are the best and will use no other; summer tires get less mileage and I'm happy with that because they perform; all weather are reasonable wear all depends on driving habits/styles

I put Falkin Zies on my 986 for street use, and I must say they are horrible on the track, street they are ok, but any time I want to get sideways, they are easy to do. |
