Not so far but I started with the easy parts.

The wrap was my Christmas present to me, from me.

husker boxster 12-12-2020 02:27 PM

Looks nice. The toughest piece will be the front bumper with all its complex curves. When I had my 01S many yrs ago, I had a local company try to put a clear bra on it. They tried 4 times but always got wrinkles around the bottom outside edges of the headlights. They gave it back to me, said that was the best they could do, and don't come back. I imagine materials have improved in 14 yrs.

Like the color.

Im probably just going to do some inlays. The front bumper is the only part that concerns me.

maytag 12-12-2020 04:47 PM

Rear bumper is also more difficult than it appears. It's fatter than it looks, haha.

I've been watching alot of videos about inlays on bumpers to make it easier. Hopefully that will help.

Saw the green, liked it, wondered how it would look. 🤔

Seal1968 12-13-2020 05:08 AM

I like your threads...you're not afraid to try anything.

Keep up the good work sir!

PS...if you have any spare headlights that were converted, let me know. Mine lens are burnt, and I'm not sure I'm confident enough to crack 'em.

I figure it will peel off easy next summer if I dont like it. 🙂

I admire your experimentation but I really like your Boxster in Red, nice work though

IMHO the red is what makes your car a firecracker... an M80.

You sure have patience... I can't even saran-wrap a bowl.

I'm looking forward to hearing about the front and rear bumper wrap... :)

Have fun!

That's a clean, sophisticated look.

The red though... ;)

Great job on the wrap! You've got some serious patience.

Merry Christmas!

It looks great, as Starter said, you have some serious patience! But it’s Christmas morning, time to unwrap it :D Just kidding but the Red looks great as well. Merry Christmas

JBauer 12-25-2020 07:39 AM

Im done for now but I have a few panels that I'm going to redo because I made a few mistakes but cant do that till spring. I'm also going to redo the roof in gloss black. It took me about a week to do on and off, not rushing.

The black top will look fantastic. I think you did a great job man, seriously.

What material did you go with? 3M?

Thanks, I used Avery Denison wrap. Easier to use in my opinion.

morbidelli17 02-16-2021 08:30 AM

Patience and skill = amazing. Nothing but respect watching pros do wrap after my small experiences with it. But a home job that comes out this nice - just wow.

Yes but if you notice the roads are clear. Earlier I took it out in the snow and didnt do too well lol.

BRAN 02-17-2021 04:49 AM

I know exactly what you mean. I was "surprised" by early snow fall long time ago, barely made my way home and the last few meters, I (almost) had to give up with my summer tires, couldn't do the slightest climb...took me 30 mins for 50meters. It was rediculous, but lesson learned.
(slightest) Snow = Winter tires, or let it be.

Mine's wrapped in GREEN too, but a bit brighter shade. Close to Porsche Signal Green.

2002 S. Just bought it a few weeks ago. The previous owner had it wrapped. It's Arctic Silver underneath.

Cheers.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1613696662.jpg
