Puddle of Water under right nose
 

Hi All.

New to me 2003 986 S with 46k miles. Most driving so far has been some mountain road drives up to watch the sunset on the ridge - so chilly with the top down. Have had the heat going pretty good.

Get home, park in the garage and the next day I find a puddle of clear liquid that I'm 99.99% sure is water just under the nose on the right side.

The drips form just where the silver nose/bumper meets the black underbody protection.

Would this be some sort of condensation from the AC condenser as I believe they are upfront.

Anyone have this and know what it is/have a fix? Thanks.

The AC condensers are indeed up front. Looks like water condensation to me. If in doubt, give it the taste test.

Would those condensers be running somehow if the heat was being run?

I took a little thimble of it and now people just get uglier and I have no sense of time!

It’s very possible you had the AC running. The AC can act as a de-humidifier even if you have the car blowing hot air. For example, when you defrost your car. If it looks, smells, and tastes like water, it’s water. So no worries!

Knew that about the defrost, but figured since I only ever had the footwell blower on it wouldn't be doing that but perhaps it is for some reason. All fluid levels appear ok so its one of those minor annoyances along with the GF wryly remarking about my "fancy" new car leaking water.
