Battery drain

Ok so I buy a new battery and come back to the car after 5 days and it’s dead. Need to access the battery via the fuse box.

Something is draining the battery on my 99 2.5. It seems to be ok for 3 days but dead after 5 following a full charge.

Anyone any experience of the same issue?

Of course not. What you describe is not right. You have a problem.

My battery discharged after leaving my key in the Ignition over night and not 1 light came on after the battery died, I jumped it thru my Cig lighter to pop the hood charged it up and its been fine ever since..So it should not be dying that quickley...Frank

There are two articles on batteries and battery drain here.

Usually something that you did or something that was changed. But the only way to find out is through a simple series of tests. Is the alternator charging the battery? Any light left on? Fuse by fuse where is the drain occurring?
