Alarm question, after a 500 mile drive now the alarm isn't working correctly

I only use my car as a Arizona weekend cruiser and to run errands sometimes during the week. Wanted to take the car to California and cruise up and down the coast.
Everything worked great, except when I got there I had the top down and set the alarm and the horn beeped once (which never happened before) Looked through the manual and it said if all the alarm contacts weren't closed then this would happen and the LED would have different flashes. I saw the contact in the trunk and it was fine, I couldn't find the one under the hood or the doors. I did get it to operate correctly by wiggling the wire loom cover in the passenger door that looks like it's coming out. Is there a contact in there? I still have to take the screw out and try to seat the cover correctly, but just curious if that could be the issue and is the door contact in there somewhere. I took my dog with me and he absolutely loved it. The car did great on the 1,500 mile trip. I was worried for a 20yr old car in the desert with the AC on but it ran great. It was a 1,500 trip and the car did great. And sorry for the giant pic, can't figure out how to edit it. |
The door harness passes through there (with the door latch wires). If the boot is loose, there’s a good chance something got wet and corroded. Pull it and clean the connections. ;)

I started having weird issues with the drivers door. Finally got around to pulling the door/post plug out to find it full of water and the connections very corroded. Cleaned it up and put a little lube on the pins and good ever since.

Your dog looks very happy in Newport Beach :-)
