Anyone know what the plastic hooks on the roof are for and connect to?

I just bought the car and when the roof was down I noticed a plastic hook connected to a elastic lanyard and connected to the roof somewhere.
Anyone know where the hooks connect to. One's on each side of the roof.
Thank Youhttp://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1592779849.jpg

if its a glassback, its for holding the glass out of the way when the car is in service mode, when top half opened to access engine. Some online videos will show you how it works.

If its a standard plastic window top, those hooks are connected to a fabric wing looking thing and you pull the hook down the side of the scissor arms. The hooks go on/over a little silver bar down the sides of the top mechanism. If you pull the rear side interior pieces off you can see where they go and it's easier to hook em with the side pieces off.

The plastic hook and elastic band provides tension for the corner of the convertible top liner that came on Boxsters, I believe after MY 99.

The hook is supposed to fit under and around the silver metal horizontal bar that is at the base of the B-Pillar on each side. You've got to put the top in the service position to reattach it.

Thank you everyone, I'll try to get the hook reattached with the roof 1/2 way open.
