IPD Plenum Need for TB upgrade?

If you install a IPD plenum do you need to install a 74 MM TB to match the IPD plenum?

I was watching a video today, cant say for sure but I would say has to have the matching throttle-body. The whole purpose of the larger plenum is to install a larger throttle body. Anyway might try the IPD sight.

The stock throttle body will no longer fit. Depending on the model you buy it will take a 74mm or larger.

I was thinking of increasing power via more air w/out replacing the TB.

If you're going to spring for an IPD plenum, you might as well get a 74mm TB. Not very expensive on eBay.

What is your plan to do that?

pretty much settles it; upgrade to ipd requires a larger TB

74? go for 82.
before you go IPD, take a look at Ben's solution.
i have one of his 3D printed prototypes installed on my 996, and absolutly loves it.

How does Ben's solution compare to a 74 or 82 TB?

Hard to beat the price of the 997 distribution tee with the 996 throttle body. I have both in the garage but have to source the silicone boots to mate the 997 tee to the 986 intake manifolds. I also bought IPD's RIDICULOUSLY pricey silicone intake hose to run to the throttle body. I just haven't taken the time to do the install yet.

If you need a run from the MAF to the throttle body you can make it yourself with silicone bends and a length of Ali tube with some jubilee clips.
