Anyone access rear of 986 airbag cover.
In the middle of another project and came across a studded porsche emblem that I thought would look great on my 4 spoke wheel. I know of the potential dangers of gluing something metal to the airbag cover, and dont plan on going this route. I planned on fastening this to the cover and cutting the stud off flush, but cannot access it due to the airbag.
Has anyone successfully removed the bolts and unpacked the airbag. Im a little scared to be the test subject, but thought I would double check before scrapping the project. Not interested in swapping to a 3 spoke due to cost and paddle shifters going on tomorrow [emoji2]. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...583be50238.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Check this video out. Go to the end to see how the crest did damage when he did a test on the airbag.

Thanks, but would the factory crest on the other wheels not do the same thing? At least what I have heard that the cover swings upward is true?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Check the video.

My high school French is beyond weak, but that video was a hoot. Isn't metal bits exploding in your face what got Takata in trouble?

Makes me wonder if we all need to deactivate these airbags or replace.
If these go off at the wrong time with that force you are toast! |
Did you see his other video where they turn a 986 into a desk?
