Door cards with speakers

I have a 98 base model that only came with dash speakers. Someone previously installed door speakers by cutting a hole in the flat door card, but they sound very tinny. I would like to upgrade to add better door speakers but still keep things original. I have a set of HAES speakers in housings that I can modify and I have been trying to locate the proper door cards on Ebay, but am not sure I am looking for the right part. My interior is savanna beige vinyl and carpet and when I look at the Porsche parts catalog I find lots of different part numbers for that color, but no indication which ones have the speaker provisions and will fit my 98. Can anyone help identify the proper Porsche part number?

Thanks

Technically any 1997-2004 986 or 996 door panel will fit. The vinyl on 97-99 have a different texture than the 2000-04 and will look odd if you try mixing them. The 97-99 has a texture similar to a basketball while the 2000-04 looks more like leather. 1997 was the only year without side airbags, so you'll need to find some off a 1998 and 99. Tan is a very popular color for those years and should be easy to find. Sorry I don't know the part number

Zibodo,

I am parting out a '98 with Savanna beige and speakers in the door. Send me a PM if interested.

You do know that the speakers in the doors are essentially low frequency woofers don't you? IIRC the factory amp limits the frequency signals to these speakers to only everything under 500hZ.

Yes, I know they are woofers. That’s what I need the sound from the dashe speakers are tinny and the aftermarket speakers installed by the previous owner don’t seem to add much bass.

The other thing I am unsure about is the amp. My base system only had the head unit with no additional amp. I plan to see what it’s like but may have to reasses later.

Still would like to know the right part numbers if someone can help
