Momentum Dealership Party

Last night, I went to Momentum Porsche's grand opening of their new sales and repair shop here in Houston. Of course, it was a beautiful building and there was a nice Carrera GT parked in front for all of us to gawk at, and of course, there were beautiful women walking around as well.... my wife was along and agreed with Mark, another forum member we were talking to during the event... "the rentals walking around here are very attractive."

Rentals! Ha! That's a good one, Mark!

Anyway, I just wanted to tell the other forum members here the great news... Mark (Houston_C4S) won 2 tickets to Germany!

As he told me this morning via cell phone, the "rental" gal in the tight skirt who was drawing tickets for the drawings all night was standing next to the band when Mark sauntered up to her and said, "Hey, you are doing a great job up there. I don't know if anyone has told you or not, but you really do command the crowd" (or something to this effect... I don't remember his exact words). He was obviously flirting with his best line as a suave single man with two Porsches in the stable!

Anyway, she asked for his raffle ticket (we all got one for showing up, btw) read the number on it, kissed it, then gave it back to him and walked off.

Three minutes later she was on stage, pulled a ticket, and read HIS number!

Hmmm. Wonder who Mark is going to take to Germany with him?

RandallNeighbor, this is a fabulous story and nostalgic. If you wish have you or your friend PM me about where to go in Germany, then please do so. Having lived there for 8 years and meeting my wife there, I'd love to tell of some great places to eat, dine, travel, see and drive

Okay guys and gals, here's the deal.

I still can't believe it really happened. But it did. And exactly
as Randall related it to you.

The spokesbabe was really hot, too. Black slinky dress. Long
hair, perfect err, shape, let's say. And those lips. Ahhh.

I still have my ticket in my pocket. It keeps me all warm.

Alright, enough of that. Mytiping wil git rilllly baad.

So it's a gift certificate kind of thing that gets a discounted
fare. I guess on any airline. I have to call the guy and see.

What I need to do is somehow get in turned into two first
class tickets on Luftahnsa. Wish me luck on that one.

And as to the apparently rabid interest as to who the
lucky passenger will be...

I should have asked the spokesbabe, I know that now.
Okay? So enough lectures already!

I did tell my main squeeze about winning, so to bump
her off the trip at this point, could cause some serious
and loud whining on her part. Especially if her replacement
is the spokesbabe.

So I messed up here, guys.

Or maybe not. Time will tell.

So help me out here. I am on the horns of a dilemma.

I am thinking of thinning down my fleet here a bit.

I have already asked Randall if I need to make an
appointment to get my head examined, but you all
feel free to chime in anytime.

I am toying with the idea of finding a new home for
the Boxster (2001, sliver (which Randall loathes) and
Boxster red full leather, 14,000 miles) and the 4S
(2002 loaded up with everything, Polar Silver (I think
Randall likes this silver -- but he won't say for sure),
supple leather, lots of carbon fiber, GT3 wheels, sport
exhaust, 16,000 miles, etc. It's nice, ask Randall --
he has driven it) and getting a 2007 Boxster S.

That came dangerously close to a run on sentence and
definitely a runaway one -- sorry about that.

Anyway, the new S will have about the same power to
weight ratio of the 4S and the balance of the Box.

That's gotta be a good thing, right?

Or should I get my brain checked? At least what's
left of it.

I am still seeing the babes in my mind who were serving
the wine at the open house, so I am all confused.

I wonder where girls like that hang out?

I have noticed in lots of places, there are doors that
are labled "Women." I wonder if they keep them in
there?

Wow. I think the coffee (home roasted in a pan, got
them perfect this time!) is kicking in.

Have a great weekend, you all.

Best,

- Mark

Let me go on record to validate and/or correct two things:

1. Driving Mark's C4 was absolutely the worst thing anyone could do to me, and it was just as bad for me as when I drove a guy's 2002 Turbo. The amount of power I do NOT have in my 2.5 Boxster just seems to haunt me now that I have been spoiled by these much larger powerplants.

2. I have said many times that I absolutely loathe silver (GT, Polar or whatever variation you want to call it) cars of any make or model because there are simply too many of them on the road, not because I don't think the color looks good. Yeah, I know they stay cleaner and show fewer swirl marks, etc. I just don't want to drive a color car that I must share with every second car on the road, especially other Porsches!

This is my story and I'm sticking with it.

PS - Mark, you forgot to tell the forum that the C4 has a beautiful carbon fiber and full black leather interior. Stunning!

Get the 07 987S. Simplify.

As for the trip, looks to me the "rental" gave you the prize so that both of you could go. You should've asked her right there and then (strike one). You shouldn't have told your squeeze about them (strike two). Given the two strikes your only option is going with the squeeze (if she means anything to you at all). Going with the rental would mean strike three between you and the squeeze.

Bagwell, looking at your silver boxster too long has blinded you... yeah, that must be it!

Friend, drive around Kirby and West University/Rice Village (not to mention the Med center with all the doctors driving in and out) and you'll see TONS of Porsches and especially the "reasonably priced" Boxster.

And they are—with few exceptions—silver in color.

"And they are—with few exceptions—silver in color."

Randall, I would expect that the % of silver cars should be proportional to how hot the summers get in a region. Up here in the north-east we do get a lot of dark colored cars, though silver is still most prevalent by far.
