Battery DEAD

I've seen some posts, but I'm about the least mechanically inclined person you'll ever meet and I want to confirm what I've read.

My battery is dead dead in my 2002 Boxster (base). I'm unable to get the frunk or trunk open using the contact in the fuse box. Nothing happens when I power it except the alarm going off.

Am I correct that the only way to open the frunk in this instance is to follow these steps:

1. Buy a jack and jack the car up (jack conveniently locked in the frunk!).
2. Remove front passenger tire and wheel well cover
3. Find cable and manually release the frunk

Did I miss anything? Is there something that I can do that would be easier?

Thanks in advance for your help!
