best exhaust note year?

Prospective 986 buyer here, so appreciate anyone chiming in.

Are there any meaningful differences in stock vs stock (or modified vs modified) exhaust notes for the various engines (2.5, 2.7, 3.2)? NOT a stock vs modified debate here. Trying to find out which engine sounds the best.

I had read somewhere on the forums that the 2.5 “sounds the best” but could someone elaborate on that?

Haven’t had the chance to test drive the different models back to back.

Thanks!

not much difference in my experience. The early cars have fewer cats, so they may sound a bit better.
