Yes. Manual or Tiptronic.

Welcome to the forum.

I agree with 78: Manual or Tiptronic. I have one in my 98.

I think taildraggerp is struggling to learn how the forum works. I'ma give hom the benefit of the doubt that he's OLD.... and technologically inadept.... instead of thinking straightaway that he's a 'bot. haha. he has 4 other posts as well, each in a thread about a car for sale, each as singularly expressive as this one, and each asking a question that is already answered in the for-sale ad. hehe.

Welcome, Taildraggerp!

I have a tip. I'm one those rare characters that actually likes it. I live in a city that seems to have a red lite every ninety feet. And they're always red. I also have a tip in a New Beetle convertible, turbo. A 6 speed, no less. Whatever you buy, you should probably test drive it first. And be sure to get a PPI. Pee, Pee, Eye? Sounds like something my brother would have called me.

Welcome. I have a 97 Tip and don't miss shifting. The earlier cars don't have steering wheel tilt. Just telescope in and out. My legs are too long. Without the tilt, my leg hits the bottom of the steering wheel. So I end up with my knee against the door while trying to press the clutch pedal.

I have learned how to use my thumbs to shift while on the twisty's. It isn't as responsive as a manual would be, but enjoyable none the less. Safe travels.

I have a Tip in a 2003 S. Love it and haven’t wished for a manual.
