Interior Light Problem

I have a 2000 that the inside lights all stay on all the time, (until the computer shuts them off after 2hrs) Has anyone had this problem, or know where the button is that should shut the lights off?

Thanks, Jeff

Check the light between the visors. It flips to three positions, on, off and auto-on when the door is opened. It should be angled (both "on" positions are when the light is at an angle and the off position is when the light is flat). Flip it to the other angle then close the doors (from outside) and lock the doors to see if the lights go out.

Hope it helps.

When you set the alarm do you get a beep like something is open?

Then it sounds like one of your door switches is not working properly. First make sure your middle console is closed completely (clicks) along with gas door, both trunks and doors then use the remote to lock the doors and see if you get the beep. If you do, open one of your doors and push the button down that normally turns the lights off. Twist it some to see if it can make contact and push it in to see if the lights go out. If not, try the other side.

If that doesn't work, you could pull the alarm codes with the durametric tool if you have it or know someone who does and see if there's something up with the alarm/locking system. I don't think there are any relays for the interior lights so I'm not sure where to go from there. Hopefully Tool Pants has run into something in the past that can help you out.

Sounds like your car thinks the door is opened when it is actually closed.

The usual suspect is the door latch that has an open/close switch on it.
