I found the following post interesting today from the RennTech site:

Interesting, and good to hear. Nice catch.

Hi,
Well, I guess if you believe it's not happening, then it really isn't. That article is nothing but anectodal, and contrary to what my Dealership Service Advisor has said. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I called him and read the article to him just now to get his reaction. His reply - "...don't believe it"... Happy Motoring!... Jim'99 |
You know what I found interesting? I called the auto repair shop that my dealership friend uses for all his high end cars and asked them how much they would charge for an RMS replacement in a Porsche. They had to call me back because they had never done it. Now this isnt a dinky little mom and pop place and they do service all brands. I dont know if its because the RMS issue is handled through dealerships because of warranties? It was just interesting.

Not to hi-jack the thread, but I found a recent thread on another Boxster board to be odd. The owner of a 987 had his engine replaced due to a porous block, which I haven't read or heard tell of since the early runs of the 986.

That block report is bizarre!
