Will these wheels fit my 986 Boxster?
 

Hello!

Have the opportunity to buy Sport Edition Cup 4 Silver painted wheels with Pirelli Winter SottoZero Series II N0 Tires. The cup 4's will fit, however the Pirelli's dimensions are: Sizes: 205 55 R17 and 235 50 R17, respectively.

Are the 55's and 50's too big for my 2001 Boxster? Please let me know! These were on a 987 before the seller sold his car. Thank you!

I'm not where I can go to my calculator to give you dimension comparisons, but you'll be fine with those. 205/55 is not so different in diameter from a 235/45, which many of us run on the front.
A similar comparison on the rear.

I cannot however speak to offsets on those wheels. I have no Idea.

@maytag so it seems that the SottoZero Tires are taller... do you know anyway I can check to make sure that these different dimensions will still be compatible and it won't bump into any internals? Or should I just go with the guy to a shop and have them try them on the car?

You're widtt, 205, is 20 mm smaller, (less wide), then my with at 225.

Your "section", or sidewall height as a ratio is greater than mine, but your overall tire diameter (height) is less than 1" larger. My money says you're fine.

Sounds good. I think I'll take a risk - worst case scenario I paid full price for rims I needed anyway. I'll be sure to update you if your calculation was good ;)
