For those who have fixed sticky radio knobs, a question.
I've pulled mine ('01 S) and have a spray can of flat black Plasti-Dip ready to go, but what about cleaning first?
What readily available brand name solvent is going to work? No stores nearby have denatured alcohol. But is denatured alcohol my only solution, and I need to search far and wide to buy a whole gallon even though I need one ounce? |
I don't know of anything else that works. You can get a quart of denatured alcohol from Amazon for $12 with free shipping. I can tell you that you don't need to bother with the Plasti-Dip. Once you use the denatured alcohol, you have perfect black rubber radio knobs that don't need any additional finishing.

Me thinks you're thinking isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. |
