Need Confirmation of Part Number for Vent Trim Screw

I'm the only one I know that can turn a 15 minute project into an hour long drama. How does a screw fall on a floor mat, shoot like a bullet and travel 12 inches, over the lip of the seat mount, and drop irretrievably in the f'ing floor pan under the seat???? How???????? It defies the law of psychics!

Anyway, the new headlight switch is in and took 15 minutes, but I gave up looking for the damn screw after an hour. Tried an extendable magnet and everything. It's lost to the Porsche pixie that snatches things from plain view on a regular basis.

So, I need one of the trim screws that secures the vent assembly on a '98. It's #7 on the diagram. The version for up to '00 indicates a 4x18 screw (99991912009), but that has evidently been superseded by (99907321801), which is a 4.2x16 screw for '01 and later.

Will the new part number work, or should I track down a 4x18 version?

Thanks!

I found the screw. It's in a parking lot in Los Feliz next to an old 2006 Infiniti.

Sorry. Couldn't resist. Yesterday was checking tire pressure... in the gravel... removed the valve stem cap... fell from my hands not a foot and, after searching for 5 minutes found it three feet away. Hands and knees time. It was like, HTF???!!!

Hope you get the proper and correct answer.

That would make logical sense. About the same distance from my old stomping grounds of Redondo Beach... :D
