Garage
I just completed the gear replacement on my transmissions. They were cracked not broken. The big problem was the driver side cable twisted off, so I replaced both gears and both cables, also cleaned and regreased the transmissions. I have both Bentley and 101 projects, the Bentley had torque specs and the 101 projects had great pictures, but I found the best information and photos in the pelican tech articles. YouTube videos are posted also. I got a little freaked out when I saw all the gears in the transmission but I went slow, marked everything and took pictures. The micro switch and cam location seemed most important, plus left to right alignment so it goes down evenly. The top works fast and smooth now. I spent 2 to 3 hour a day for 3 days at a leisurely pace, plus $150 in parts.
