In search of Oil Filter Wrench for 2009 Boxster

I have a 2009 Boxster, 987.2.

I have the LN Engineering spin-on oil adapter installed.

Can anyone recommend a good oil filter wrench that will fit the oil filter Napa Gold 1042 or Wix 51042 filter. ?

Last time I changed my oil, I borrowed one from a buddy, but would like to have my own tool.

Thank-you,
Tom

Just go to any auto parts store and ask them for the cup wrench for that filter number. Or consider ordering one from Pelican Parts.

I found a wrench locally that fits the NAPA 1042 filter, the wrench is a 74mm wrench, $8.99 at the local NAPA store.

You can get a set of these at HF for $7.69 and have oil filter wrenches for just about all your cars.

I carry my oil filter removal tool with me 24/7.

My hand. Free, and hasn't yet broken.

On a 987.2, there's a lot of crap around the filter. You need the one with a hinged handle.

Most cars are like that now, that's why I haven't used one of those since the 80's.

I use cup wrenches mostly, and I have a strap wrench that connects to a 1/2" ratchet for those really tough ones.

That thing has never failed me, even on filters that got crushed from other wrenches.

Obviously, you've been really working on that hand grip! :D:D:D:D:D

I would think with the adaptor and a spin on filter you would have enough room to use the one pictured. You only need 1" of grip at the bottom of the filter.

Dude... I have to. It's a monster. The downside is I have to have all my pants altered to include a third leg. Further, it requires its own shoe... and size 17s are hard to come by. Finally, they only come in pairs and mine is a lefty.

Know anybody looking for 13 size 17 right shoes? Couple of Nikes included.

Don't ask me about socks.
