Red clip?
I'm feeling as dumb as I look...
What is the red clip that people refer to when talking about their convertible top? Knock on wood, I have yet to have problems with my top going up and down, but I don't remember ever seeing a red clip?

Sammy,
The red clip comes with the Speedster Cover. It tricks the car into thinking the top is up when it really isn't. I ordered one online so when I leave the top down and I set the alarm the interior motion sensor is activated ( normally the motion sensor only works with the top up, but with the clip inserted the car "thinks" the top is up so the interior motion sensor it activated ).
Hope this helps...
Nick

And if you want one get it from a dealer, NOT ebay!! I see people paying really crazy money for them on ebay, The clip is like 4 bucks.

I agree. It cost me more in shipping than for the clip itself !
When I stopped by the dealer ( in Rockford ) the kid at the parts counter had NO idea what I was talking about...

Sunset motorsports has the red clip. I've found their prices to be very reasonable for a variety of things.
here is the link.

Thank you for the clarification!
I typically do not leave my car unattended with the top down for very long even if I'm in a "nice" neighborhood. All it takes is one jacka$$ to toss a cigarette in to do damage...

I agree, I won't leave it parked with the top down if the car is not within my view.
I guess the red clip just gives me peace of mind...

If you want to find it at the dealer, tell the parts guy its a Techquipment part that comes with the speedster humps....Naturally thats what the red clip was for, to prevent you from raising your stop without removing the humps first.
