Taillight issues

2003 Boxster base. Had the rear lights removed to repair the lenses. It did not rain, but the car was outside and the lights were removed over night. Replaced all the bulbs when I put everything back together. When I turn the light switch on, the dash left and right turn signal indicators are both constant on, as well as the fog light indicator, even if the knob is not pulled out for fog. The center brake light works, but the side brake lights do not, neither do the turn signal bulbs. The bulbs for side marker, tail light, and reverse light are all on. All lights in front work as normal.

What the hell?

If you are repairing the lense because of a crack and it's letting water in then check the contacts for any corrosion.

All contacts look brand new, the metal tracks on the bulb holder are in there solid. No evidence of leakage in the rest of the trunk or reason to believe something would be amiss. Everything worked fine before all this.

It may be time to X/O your light switch. There is a lot going on in those switches.
