Cam deviation numbers 02' 2.7

I didn't really ask which side was which but I was told -3 on 1 side and -7 on the other side and then the other mech. That overheard my questions said the numbers don't mean much don't worry about any of it,.?? Hmm otherwise my used car purchase checked out great ,..

The spec limits are +/- 6, so yes, it is something to worry about.

So the one -3 bank is ok,..but the -7 bank is the concern I have the 3 external tensioners ready to install when that time comes which apparently will be soon..

Often chain rails need to be changed to correct this issue. They tend to wear down eventually.

Ahh Thanks Newart,..is that a difficult task,.??

Not hard with the engine out. More difficult with it in. It entails removing the cam covers after locking down the cams with a special tool. I'm sure there must be videos of this. You need to be fairly good at wrenching. I have done it but it was before I had my YouTube channel so I didn't film it. :(
