Help with fogging front window...
The weather has stated to get a bit cooler at night and now the passenger side of the inside front windshield fogs up and does not clear easily (see attached pic). The air flow from the passenger side defrost is noticeably lower; used compressed air to remove any debris, but not real change in air flow. Can anyone offer a suggestion? Thx.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1567742110.jpg

Possibly issue with the foam inside the heater/AC search for vent debri lot of info. If the foam is missing the system doesnt heat or cool well might affect the defogging.

Does it smell like coolant inside the car?
If yes, heater core is leaking. If no, likely missing foam, as Cunningr said, and a clogged AC drip tray drain. |

...now that you mention it, i do think that i smell coolant. When i bought the car (4 month ago), with minimal repair history, the coolant was VERY low. I flushed/replaced the coolant with the pink stuff and although this went very smooth (vacuum refill), i have had to add a little coolant...it makes sense that i might have a very small leak...in the heater core...crap.
Next question (which i can also search): how do i access the heater core...off to YouTube. Many thanks! |
Thanks all who replied...it was the heater core! See pics...new one on order from Pelican Parts (did not choose the Porsche brand at 3x price). There was standing liquid in the mounting box.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1567998731.jpg
