How can I undo red painted calipers?
Hi. I have a 2001 base Boxster that unfortunately, the previous owner painted the calipers red.
Is it possible to undo this? I was thinking if the stock calipers are powder coated that possibly I can use paint remover or paint thinner to get off the red paint. But, even if that is true, I am afraid the PORSCHE lettering underneath the red paint would also come off. Any advice? Anyone want to trade stock calipers? They look like a nice solid paint job but I don’t like it. |
More than likely the original paint was worn off and looked like crap anyway. At 39000 miles my 03s calipers the paint was badly worn and the lettering was barely visible. Just repaint them.

You can’t save or preserve the lettering.
Just sand a bit to rough up the surface (or go nuts and remove it all), then put a coat or two on top, add “Porsche” decals, finish with clear coat. |
