Everything built after 1996 is OBD II.

I highly recommend the bluedriver that I have.

I use a cheapo blue tooth sender, its great with apps you can get for your phone to read from the computer, get the codes, etc. I like to get the water temp and battery voltage. Gives a bit more accurate numbers. Also can read the monitors to make sure their all working.

Thank you all for the feedback. I don't want to spend $100 for the dongle, as I'll purchase an app.

KK... what device are you using... name/model... and what do you think of the BAFX product in general? It has some decent reviews, and I don't need anything particularly fancy. I just desire to see some metrics in real-time.

Thanks!

I have one, haven't used it in years. That said, it works just fine. Get Torque Pro and you'll have what you need. These won't do resets of ABS or Airbags, tho.

You have the BAFX?

Thank you, Brian.

Any OBD2 reader will read codes, but for all the nitty gritty stuff (cam deviations, stuff like that) the only real option is a Durametric or Porsche unit. (Big $$$$) The Durametric is absolutely worth the extra coin if you are a DIY type...

I have an Actron OBD2 reader. One of these days I'll pick up the Durametric. For now I want to see al the fancy schmancy details of temps... RPMs... etc on my Android tablet or phone. Oh, in color. ;)

Thus I don't need an expensive dongle. Just something to transmit the data to the tablet.

I got this for my 2003 S to use with my iPhone and the Track Addict $8.99App. So simple a caveman (and I) can use it. It also works with other Code Scanner Apps, I used it with a free App called Car Scanner even though I know nothing about using a scanner.
