Headlights switch - color code of the cables?
Hi guys,
I could need help finding the +/- cables for the head lights parking lights Those are the ones from the switch (okay, not a big help): http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1566931518.jpg Does anyone have a color coded diagram for those? |
Low + white/black
Gray/red side marker right Gray/black side marker left Any brown is common ground. |
stunning!
I tried to come to the same conclusion reading the Bentley Manual. Yup, I found the color coding there and for real at the switch. Thank you, particlewave! As i need to apply ground (-) from the low beam beam and the side markes, I assume, I can use those two brown cables, no matter, which is which, right? And I need to find out two more things: easy accessible central locking (+) and central locking (-) If it works out fine, I will post my DIY result on the seal gray thread, soon. It is just a little Gimmick. As if I don't have enough already :D http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1567004206.jpg |
Well, "it" seems to work without the central locking connection (which I think only triggers the device to start, when remotely locking/unlocking the car).
I can do without it, as I don't have remote keys anyway (did not want them back then, and nowadays no car is safely locked, if car thieves use remote jammers). Tiny old school Porsche keys all the way! But one thing is not working yet, the license plate lights. I tried to look them up in the Bentley diagram… Is there a cable for them at the switch? I need the Color Code for the positiv (+) connection. Thank you in advance, particlewave :D |
Sorry that I missed your last post. I haven’t been logging on lately.
The license plate light positive wire at the switch is GRAY (solid gray, no stripe). Note: you may find two gray wires...either is fine. |
AWESSOME SAUCE.
Thank you, particlewave! ...I had no doubt, you could answer that one. The device is a:........................ automatic "headlights/low beam" Controller, including a neat "coming home" function (keeps the lights on for a defined period of time, 20-40 secs, even after locking the car). Turns on the low beam whenever a "self-defined Darkness" is recognized. You can leave the regular switch in the default position and the device (when turned on) takes over control. When it is getting brighter, it turns off the lights again. As soon as the regular switch is turned on, it has priority, of course. It is licensed, with a patent and an E9 and CE certification, "street legal". |
