2004 Boxster (65k) periodic loss of power

As the title states... I have a 2004 Boxster with 65k on the clock and it drives great.
However, lately I have had moments where it seems the car suddenly loses
power (at approximately 40-45 mph) while driving in city traffic.

It seems to happen for a second or two, then just as suddenly everything is all normal again. It doesn't stall, it seems to go limp then poof it's all good. There are no noises or anything to indicate a drive train issue. Any insight as to what might be causing it?

Thanks for reading!

Are you accelerating at the time it happens or steady cruise?

Piper's question is a good place to begin.

Then, see if you can reproduce the problem while watching the dash, and tell us what the tach needle does.

The two times that it occurred were when I was cruising at 45 and went to accelerate mildly in traffic.

Oh, one kinda important detail...it has a Tiptronic transmission.

I was having a similar issue. I'd get Sudden loss of power, the engine bogs down, pushing on the accelerator just makes the car want to stall. I'd push in the clutch, let it idle/coast a bit. Engine would not stall, just idle. Then it would seem to sort itself out. I'd engage the clutch (geared down to accommodate the loss of speed) and I would get back full power. Episodes would last maybe 30 seconds or so. There would be no check engine light. The only other contributing factor would be that it seemed to happen after the car had been sitting for a while (2-3 weeks) and engine was just warming up. I already replaced the MAF (which solved CEL and other performance issues). I always use premium fuel as well. I have 170k kms on the dial.

After hunting around on the forum, I opted to change the fuel filter and fuel pump because it appeared to be a fuel delivery problem. We will see how that plays out.

Are your symptoms similar to mine (minus the manual trans)?.
