OCD Brake Question

Odd question. I have tried to only use year (97) correct parts as possible. Not OEM necessarily, but only what was offered that year. Brakes and rotors are in my near future. Were cross drilled rotors an option on first year Boxsters? I tried poking around the web and through the PET catalog, just haven't found the answer yet.

Long live the orange. :p

IIRC the cross drilled rotors and red calipers first showed up on the 'S' when it arrived in 2000.

You can find cross drilled rotors to fit your car on eBay. I got a set for my non-S model for something like $100 for all four rotors. Cheap Chinese made (pre-tariffs, of course), but they worked fine. Most important, they look really cool!

This is correct, cross-drilled rotors were never offered by Porsche (not stock and not an option) for 97-99.

Thanks gentlemen. Much as I suspected. I did know that they are available now. However, I was trying to confirm if they might have been a special order factory option prior to the release of the S models. I like the look also, but period correct is more important to me. Safe travels.
