3.2 Tip into a 3.2 6spd?

I am on the hunt for a replacement 3.2 motor for my 01 Boxster S Project, I found a motor out of a TIP/Automatic car and didn't know if there was anything different about a TIP motor vs a Manual motor other than the wiring harness.

Thanks guys,

Brian

The big part of it is the harness. The rest is stuff that is pretty easy to swap from one engine to the other. I've posted before with better detail and you can probably find it with a search.
  • Brake booster vacuum hose on the tip connects to the other end of the engine with a different hose.
  • Intake tubing is different (attachment for the brake booster venturi and I think the resonator is a little different)
  • Alternator and starter are slightly different, but either will function.
  • Tip has an extra vacuum hose connection for transmission cooling.

Buy new bolts for the flywheel, I think the rest of the bolts are reusable (?).

What year TIP? M-Y might be more of an issue than it being a tip. 2003/4 had a different ECU I think... worth making sure...
