The amount of power it draws is minuscule.
Unless you are leaving it in for weeks at a time and not driving the car, should not be a problem to leave it as it is.

If you are still worried about flattening y9our battery, use a battery maintainer. Not a bad idea anyway if the car doesn't get driven regularly

Thanks Jay. I understand that the draw might be tiny, but I've essentially got a LED flashing device in my car at all times day and night. A solution is surely to rewire the device so it goes on and off with ignition, it makes sense and will surely work. I'd be amazed if no one has tried this already.
