couple of pics of the 'damage' ... anything to be concerned about?

I wouldn't be terribly concerned... but I'd attend to those scuffs.

My top has a couple of similar, although not as pronounced, scuffs... but on the top... not the sides near the rear. I put a few drops of super glue on the affected areas... dries... invisible. The "mark" (scuff/tear) appearance remains... but I believe it mitigates further erosion.

Your's look like they won't get any better... I'd move on it.
