Sometimes my Boxster drives me MAD!
Hi Chaps
Don't get me wrong I love my 2000S but sometimes I could easily punch it lol. What should have been a simple service and brake disc and pad change has turned into a nightmare. Rear brake discs, pads change: fine no probs Front brake disc, pads change: Top caliper stud on each side of the car has decided to fuse themselves into the hub carrier to the extent it was nearly being the ratchet bar. Mechanic recons its not coming out without stripping the threads in the hub carrier....... grrrrrr Going to order 2 new hub carriers from a breaker today. Come to do the plugs, every one of the coil pacs are cracked, of course this is after the parts shops are closed. He put in the new plugs and sure enough its misfiring now so its car is not going anywhere until the coil packs arrive. I sometimes think why do I bother.... then I look at it and remember why lol |
Cracked packs to not necessarily cause a misfire unless moisture gets in. You might verify that the connectors are securely clicked into place. This has happened to me in the past.

And keep in mind you're dealing with a 19 yr old vehicle that may or may not have had regular maintenance. When maintenance items go past their replacement dates, funny stuff happens when you go in at a later date.
