Unhappy turn signal stalk issue... broken

Hello,

My turn signal made one of those "interesting" noises while signalling right with the searing at center. Suddenly it will not cancel when signalling left and I have to hold it to keep it signalling right. :ah:

I see that in replacing it one can simply move the OBC lever onto a new switch assembly however my car is also equipped with headlight washers.
Would it be possible to simply replace the broken plastic peace from a new assembly rather than replacing the whole thing?

More specifically it sounds like there is a plastic nub in the assembly that wears down / breaks off over time (mine at 99K miles)
It sounds like people have managed to put tape on this piece as a shim- has anyone managed to replace it outright?
I have yet to take mine apart but considering the noise I suspect it is broken rather than worn.

Thanks

You will need to replace the 3 stalk unit with a new one. The 4th can be swapped over. The unit is not easily repairable.
