Parking brake handle Q

Has anyone here removed the P Brake handle trim. Not the side trim, but the actual leather/vinyl hand part? I am considering leather wrapping mine but need to remove it first. Any tips would be great!

I did, to replace my leather handle trim with a wooden one. Cannot recall details anymore, but it was way harder to get a custome/bespoke handle to fit than getting the old OEM handle off.

I haven't replaced the leather trim handle but I recently replaced the entire hand brake. I broke the original in half. Basically the hand brake is plastic and the leather wrap is glued. I broke the hand brake in the middle right where the leather seam sits. Hope that makes sense. In my humble opinion you can re wrap it but it appears to be challenging considering how well the leather is glued. If you pull hard enough half of the hand brake should slide off. I don't recommend it in case you break it :) Everything underneath the leather is plastic. Only the handbrake gears are metal.

I couldn't get mine off, so I just made a cover for the whole thing.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1553298105.jpg
