Hidden bolt removal

Stripping all the peripherals off the broken m96. One last bolt nicely tucked under the power steering pump. Box end won't fit in. No go with a socket and universal joint. Any suggestions?

Looks easy in the photo. It's not!

remove the pump from the bracket - three bolts. if you are stripping the engine it comes off regardless (typically is not sold with the tensioner assembly).

I assume you're talking about the bolt I circled in red below? Is the engine case already toast? If so and no one else chimes in with a good answer, I would attack the area circled in green with a drill or Dremel, or even an oxy-acetylene torch set if you have one and make the already damaged case worse to salvage the good part that you need. I hope someone else has a simpler and easier way!

Remove the pump first. I had the same issue when stripping the engine, this thing is full of these stupid challenges.

Thanks everyone! It was way too easy. I apologize for all the mean things I said about German engineers!

The German engineers deserve it. My job involves fixing a lot of German laboratory equipment, and I often swear at the engineers.
