Hydraulic clutch Grip strength
 

Is the Grip strength of a Hydraulic clutch ( 02' 2.7 ) Boxster very strong, if I launch from the traffic light aggressively I smell clutch,..( or I think clutch ),..if I don't launch hard all is fine,..Just trying to learn this car..FYI, A new clutch and PP was installed in Nov. of 2018 ...Thanks Frank

It's not a drag racer, so you will smell burnt clutch disc doing things like that.
FYI: hydraulics has nothing to do with it as it's hydraulically released, not engaged.

This - Don't Do this.
You have to finesse the take off, get that DMF spun up and get a good 1st to 2nd shift

Thanks, Particlewave / KK2002s,...I know its not a olds W30 4 spd,..But I didn't rev up and dump the clutch like that,..But,.. yes I did dump it a little hard,..I have never driven a Hydraulic clutch type car that often and I was surprised it didn't take much HotDoggin to get it smellin,..so to speak,.LOL

Knowingly launching hard off the line and you can't figure out if it's your clutch or not... If you wanted a car to fly, this is NOT the car.

No need to Fly Eric G,. Just trying to understand how to drive this one,..my old cable actuated 911's were strong pullers from the light with standard clutch package,..I thought the Hydraulic type clutches replaced the cables with pressure fed type of a system,..But I got it now..Thanks

There is also a helper spring that makes feeling the clutch a little vague. It could be broken. There is also a way to lighten it up with an aftermarket spring to make the slip feel a bit better. But, yeah a Porsche ain’t a drag car for sure, but with good feel and practice you can get it pretty hot off the line. The trans will punish you for dumping the clutch.
