emergency hood release cable
 

Where is the emergency hood release on an '01 boxster located? I saw a video showing it located behind the right front tire; it seems more sensible to find it in front with only a short distance to the release mechanism. Too cold to guess so I'm hoping for help to find it before crawling around on the ground. As always,TIA.

In front of the right front tire behind the splash guard. (From memory). You can reroute the cable to the tow hook recepticle to make easier access. Do a search on the forum, there should be many posts on this.

Found a YouTube video showing how to reach above the driver’s side front tire, peel back the liner and give the cable a tug. No need to remove anything. Took about a minute.

Search didn't do much but problem is solved; jump pack on the fuse panel point got it opened. Re-location is coming soon! Thanks
