How to change the air filter (DIY)

Anyone knows how to access and change the air filter? The cabine filter is done bu t could not find the air filter...thanks!

You just have to put the top in service mode and the filter is on the left hand or drivers side. Do you know how to put the car in service mode? If not do a search it has been covered a bunch of times.

Look at the white sticker in the top of the picture. The air filter is under there. Release 2 metal clips and pull the filter out.

Vanessa, don't worry if you haven't seen your engine...neither have I.

Its a small process to "see the engine"

i would search for detail instructions on how to do this, try going to renntech.org, they have alot of write-ups on stufff like that.

Hey your throttle body looks different than mine...yours is pointing at an angle, and doesnt look as wide as mine...Also i dont see a throttle cable on the passenger side of it like mine has.

That is because the above picture is an egas car.

Here is a non egas 2.5.

CJ_Boxster 09-18-2006 02:56 PM

Electronic Gas pedal. The pedal has a cable that goes to an electronic box rather than pulling directly on the throttle. When you push the pedal, it puls on a spring loaded pulley (just like the one on regular engines at the throttle body). The box sends a signal to the computer with how much gas you are giving the car and the computer opens the throttle body accordingly.
