Rear wheel plastic protectors
 
I removed the plastic rear wheel protectors and cleaned them up . I want to paint but what is the recommend finish and type of pint I should use to keep with orginally finish ?

I hate to use this term but the plastic "mud Flaps /stone protectors" behind the rear wheels.

Hmmm..... you may need to potest a pic. I don't have anything like that on my car.... nor do I think I've ever seen any installed on a 986. Or maybe I'm just not yet picturing what you're describing.

The only thing behind the rear wheels (at least on those I've looked at) is the rear bumper cover.

I would guess semi-gloss to flat black, most durable you can find.

My problem is the little rubber trim piece on the bottom falls off eventually, so I buy a new one.

What a knuckle head I am, yes I do mean in front of the rear wheel as suggested by a keen observer . thanks to all that replied

I had mine painted to match then chip guarded.
